The Buhurt League World Cup (BL WC) is set to take the stage from April 27-30, 2023, in Libusin, Czech Republic. This event promises to be a thrilling spectacle of medieval combat sports, attracting skilled fighters from around the globe.
With a total of 132 fighters competing in 1vs1 battles and 48 men's and 7 women's 5vs5 teams, the event is sure to be action-packed. Fighters represent countries such as Australia, China, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Poland, Sweden, and the United States. Each category, including Sword and Shield, Sword and Buckler, Longsword, and Polearm, will showcase intense battles and incredible skill.
In addition to the 5vs5 battles, the event will feature 14 men's 12vs12 teams, 3 women's 12vs12 teams, and 6 men's 30vs30 teams. These mass battles promise to deliver chaos and excitement as teams from different countries band together for an all-out brawl.
The organizers have carefully considered the event structure, ensuring that teams are fairly matched and that groups are as equal in strength as possible. Top teams, such as Dominus and White Company, are divided, and teams from the same country are separated to maintain a balanced competition. The 5vs5 men's draft will be prepared manually, taking into account team strengths and regional considerations.
Fighters have until March 20th, 07:00 CET, to register with a valid reason for late registration. The 1vs1 draft will be conducted as soon as the fighter's names are available, and the organizers will prioritize fitting the competition into a single day while ensuring the well-being of the marshals.
